At MapleTree Center, Dubai, we care deeply about supporting growth and development. We offer thoughtful, evidence-based, and relational learning spaces for, both, licensed and practicing clinicians (in the form of continuing education) and the wider community (through psychoeducation).

What we offer

  • Peer Consultation (Supervision): We offer an objective space to support clinical reflection, case formulation, ethical decision-making, and professional growth for licensed practitioners. These sessions emphasize clinical reasoning and practical integration into your practice. These services are particularly relevant for clinicians practicing in Dubai and across the UAE.

  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training: Through seminars and workshops, we provide targeted, skills-based learning for mental health and allied professionals. Topics are grounded in current research and clinical practice, with a strong focus on applicability, reflective learning, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Our CPD programs are designed with the regulatory and clinical context of Dubai and the UAE in mind.

  • Psychoeducational Programs: With a focus on participant needs, we offer seminars and workshops for the community at large, including schools, organizations, and other communities in Dubai. These sessions involve discussions on psychological topics and practical strategies.

All our training services include considerations for diversity and ethical issues, particularly those that impact work in Dubai and other emirates within the UAE.

In designing the support we offer to our colleagues and communities, the clinicians at MapleTree consider individual needs and scope of expertise. These are discussed and agreed-upon before beginning.

FAQs

During the first session, you and your psychologist will work together to understand why you are seeking therapy and develop a working plan. This may involve discussing your current/recent experiences, history, concerns, questions, wishes, and goals. There is no pressure to disclose or commit to anything that may be intolerable for you.

Therapy may be helpful if you feel overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure how to move forward. Many clients seek support when navigating stress, relationships, work pressures, or emotional difficulties. You and your psychologist will decide together what approach best fits your needs and what may be the best steps moving forward.

The length of therapy varies. Some clients attend for a short period to address a specific concern, while others engage in longer-term work to explore deeper patterns. Many clients notice meaningful improvements within 6–8 weeks, though the pace and duration may differ. You and your psychologist may review progress and adjust the plan as needed.

Our clinicians integrate various evidence-informed approaches, including psychodynamic, trauma-informed, experiential, and skills-based therapies. Your psychologist will draw on the methods most attuned to your goals, strengths, and experiences.

Yes. Your privacy is central to our practice. Confidentiality is maintained according to professional and ethical guidelines, with only a few exceptions related to safety.

This is a common concern before therapy. Your psychologist will move at a pace that feels manageable for you and will help you find language, tools, or grounding techniques that make sharing easier. You do not have to verbalize distressing experiences if you are not ready.
