Reclaim Restful Nights and Clear Mornings

In a city like Dubai, where late work hours, screen time, and high-paced living are the norm, restful sleep often becomes a luxury. If you find yourself struggling with falling asleep, waking up frequently, experiencing nightmares, or feeling fatigued even after sleep—you’re not alone. Sleep issues, including insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea, can have a major impact on your mental clarity, emotional regulation, physical health, and overall well-being.

At MapleTree Psychotherapy Center Dubai, our licensed psychologists help you understand the underlying causes of sleep disruptions and develop healthy, lasting sleep patterns—often without depending on medication.

Why Sleep Problems Happen

Sleep issues often stem from a combination of stress, anxiety, lifestyle habits, unprocessed emotions, or subconscious beliefs. Expats and professionals in Dubai may face irregular schedules, jet lag, late-night work demands, or racing thoughts, all of which can interfere with natural sleep rhythms.

How Therapy Can Help

Our therapists use evidence-based strategies to:

  • Identify behavioral and psychological patterns disrupting your sleep
  • Address nighttime anxiety, overthinking, and anticipatory stress
  • Break the cycle of poor sleep through structured sleep hygiene practices
  • Reduce reliance on sleep aids through natural coping tools
  • Treat co-occurring concerns such as trauma, grief, or burnout contributing to restlessness
  • Use relaxation techniques and cognitive restructuring to prepare the mind for rest
  • Inform key lifestyle changes to enhance sleep and daytime energy levels

You’ll learn how to create a sleep-conducive environment and retrain your brain to associate bedtime with calm and restoration.

Our Therapeutic Approach

We customize your care using methods such as:

  • Psychoeducation about the sleep-wake cycle
  • Relaxation training, breathwork, and somatic practices
  • Mindfulness-based techniques and sleep journaling
  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) when insomnia is linked to rumination or emotional avoidance
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
  • Psychodynamic and trauma-informed support for deeper causes of nightmares or disrupted sleep
  • Optional integrative methods including sound therapy and guided visualization

Emotional Wellbeing Check

An Emotional Wellbeing Check is a 30 minute consultation to give you an overview of how you are doing with your psychological wellbeing. It will highlight key areas of your wellness and give an indication as to whether there are any areas of your life that would benefit from some attention. Like any other health check up, an emotional wellbeing check is an important part of staying on top of your mental health. With no commitment to engaging in regular therapy, this service offers a useful measure of your overall emotional wellbeing.

When might an emotional wellbeing check be beneficial?

  • Something feels “off”, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is
  • You are considering embarking on therapy, but you remain uncertain as to whether this would be beneficial for you
  • You have a history of mental health difficulties and want to stay on top of your emotional wellbeing

Following the wellbeing check you will be provided with a brief summary report with recommendations from Dr Shamarel. As this is not a service that insurance companies typically reimburse for, you will not be given a formal diagnosis.
