You Are Not Alone — And You Don’t Have to Heal in Silence
Sexual assault and abuse can leave lasting emotional wounds — not only in the body, but in trust, safety, and self-worth. Whether the experience happened recently or years ago, its effects can quietly shape how you move through the world: how you feel in relationships, in intimacy, in your body — even in your everyday thoughts.
At MapleTree Psychotherapy Center in Dubai, we offer a safe, compassionate space for survivors of sexual assault and abuse to begin (or continue) their healing. You are not expected to explain everything at once. There is no “right” way to process what happened — just your way.

How Therapy Can Support You
Healing is not about forgetting or pretending it didn’t happen. It’s about creating enough safety — inside and out — to reconnect with yourself, at your pace. Therapy may support you with:
- Processing complex emotions like shame, fear, anger, or confusion
- Understanding trauma responses, such as hypervigilance, emotional detachment, or difficulty with touch
- Rebuilding trust — in yourself, in others, in your boundaries
- Exploring how the experience has affected relationships, intimacy, or your sense of identity
- Gaining tools for grounding, calming the nervous system, and managing flashbacks or triggers
- Letting go of self-blame, and finding language for what may have been unspoken for years
You don’t need to have a perfect memory or a clear narrative. You don’t even have to talk about the details unless you want to. Therapy begins wherever you are.
Our Therapeutic Approach
Our trauma-informed psychotherapists work with deep respect, never rushing or pushing. Safety and trust are foundational to this work.
Depending on your needs, your therapist may draw from:
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, to explore how your past experiences have shaped your inner world
- Attachment-Based Therapy, especially if early relationships involved boundary violations or emotional harm
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), to support emotional expression and self-compassion
- Somatic grounding techniques, for when trauma is felt more in the body than in words
- Narrative Therapy, to help re-author your story in a way that honors strength and survival
- Behavioral tools, as needed, to manage anxiety, sleep disruptions, or safety concerns
We take care to match you with a therapist who aligns with your emotional, cultural, and communication needs.
