Reconnect with the Present, Reduce Stress & Build Inner Clarity

Life in Dubai can often feel fast-paced and demanding. With the pressures of work, family, and personal growth, many residents find themselves overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally fatigued. Mindfulness-Based Therapy offers a grounding path to help you stay present, reduce stress, and cultivate self-awareness, even amid the daily hustle.

At MapleTree Psychotherapy Center, our experienced psychologists offer mindfulness-based interventions designed to help you slow down, tune into your thoughts and emotions, and respond with clarity instead of reactivity.

  • Feel emotionally reactive in relationships or at work
  • Seek greater balance between productivity and well-being

Whether you’re a busy professional, a parent, a student, or an expat navigating change, mindfulness therapy provides valuable tools to build emotional resilience.

What You Can Expect from Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy sessions can help you:

  • Develop awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations
  • Learn evidence-based relaxation techniques like deep breathing and guided meditation
  • Improve your ability to stay calm in stressful situations
  • Recognize unhelpful thought patterns and respond more constructively
  • Practice acceptance and compassion toward yourself
  • Enhance concentration and emotional regulation
  • Create space for clarity, purpose, and present-moment joy

Mindfulness isn’t about “emptying your mind”—it’s about learning how to live more intentionally and peacefully.

Our Therapeutic Approach

At MapleTree, our clinicians blend mindfulness with other effective modalities for a well-rounded experience:

  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) – Combines traditional CBT with mindfulness to reduce rumination and prevent relapse of depression or anxiety
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages present-moment awareness while aligning actions with your personal values
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy – Helps reduce self-criticism and promote emotional healing
  • Guided Relaxation & Breathwork – Introduces grounding techniques to regulate the nervous system

Your therapist will tailor the experience to your goals and preferences.

Emotional Wellbeing Check

An Emotional Wellbeing Check is a 30 minute consultation to give you an overview of how you are doing with your psychological wellbeing. It will highlight key areas of your wellness and give an indication as to whether there are any areas of your life that would benefit from some attention. Like any other health check up, an emotional wellbeing check is an important part of staying on top of your mental health. With no commitment to engaging in regular therapy, this service offers a useful measure of your overall emotional wellbeing.

When might an emotional wellbeing check be beneficial?

  • Something feels “off”, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is
  • You are considering embarking on therapy, but you remain uncertain as to whether this would be beneficial for you
  • You have a history of mental health difficulties and want to stay on top of your emotional wellbeing

Following the wellbeing check you will be provided with a brief summary report with recommendations from Dr Shamarel. As this is not a service that insurance companies typically reimburse for, you will not be given a formal diagnosis.
