About this workshop
Did you know that human beings are the only species that self-monitor in a particular way? And despite this being advantageous in some ways, it is also a source of a lot of shame, anxiety and depression.
Compassion, for many centuries, has been seen as the antidote to suffering. This has been demonstrated with research studies that show how an increase in self-compassion leads to a reduction of mental health symptomatology.
In this experiential workshop participants will be taught about compassion, how to develop a compassionate mind and its use in cultivating self-compassion. The workshop is designed to give you an introduction into understanding the core principles of this approach. It will also offer the space to engage in practical exercises so that you can apply it in your life.
By the end of this workshop you should have developed
- An understanding of what true compassion is
- Knowledge of how to embody your compassionate self
