Finding Space for Life Within the Demands of Work

It’s easy to lose yourself when work takes over. The constant pull of deadlines, responsibility, and expectation can leave little time — or energy — for relationships, rest, or even a moment to breathe. For many professionals in Dubai, work-life balance isn’t just about managing time. It’s about managing the quiet pressure to be everything to everyone, all the time.

At MapleTree Psychotherapy Center in Dubai, we support individuals in reclaiming a more balanced, human way of living — one that honors both your ambitions and your well-being.

What We Explore Together

Work-life balance is personal — and deeply emotional. Through counseling, we support clients to:

  • Understand the emotional cost of imbalance, including stress, guilt, and disconnection
  • Identify invisible pressures (cultural, internal, or external) that shape their work habits
  • Set meaningful boundaries without shame or fear of disappointing others
  • Make decisions that align with your core beliefs and needs
  • Reconnect with joy, rest, and personal values outside of productivity
  • Navigate perfectionism, over-functioning, or people-pleasing tendencies
  • Explore how identity is tied to achievement and professional role
  • Build sustainable routines that prioritize emotional and relational health
  • Address the unique challenges faced by expatriates managing work-life dynamics far from home

Integrated Services for Better Balance

At MapleTree Psychotherapy Center in Dubai, our services go beyond surface-level time management. We help you untangle the emotional, relational, and systemic roots of imbalance — so you can live with greater ease and authenticity.

We offer:

  • Coaching, to support boundary-setting, value-based goal alignment, and navigating high-demand roles with clarity.
  • Psychotherapy and Counselling, offering space to explore the emotional costs of imbalance, shift long-standing patterns, and reconnect with your inner compass.
  • Workshops, for individuals or teams, addressing themes like burnout prevention, emotional boundaries, and redefining success beyond output.

These offerings are also available through Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), tailored for organizations keen on supporting sustainable well-being across their workplace communities.

You’re Allowed to Be a Person, Not Just a Professional

If you’re exhausted from trying to keep everything together, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. There is space for your needs, your rest, and your real life — even here.

Balance isn’t just a luxury. It’s part of being well. And you’re allowed to want that.

Emotional Wellbeing Check

An Emotional Wellbeing Check is a 30 minute consultation to give you an overview of how you are doing with your psychological wellbeing. It will highlight key areas of your wellness and give an indication as to whether there are any areas of your life that would benefit from some attention. Like any other health check up, an emotional wellbeing check is an important part of staying on top of your mental health. With no commitment to engaging in regular therapy, this service offers a useful measure of your overall emotional wellbeing.

When might an emotional wellbeing check be beneficial?

  • Something feels “off”, but you can’t quite put your finger on what it is
  • You are considering embarking on therapy, but you remain uncertain as to whether this would be beneficial for you
  • You have a history of mental health difficulties and want to stay on top of your emotional wellbeing

Following the wellbeing check you will be provided with a brief summary report with recommendations from Dr Shamarel. As this is not a service that insurance companies typically reimburse for, you will not be given a formal diagnosis.
